“If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75 per cent of the world."

Clothing is one of our basic needs as humans. The purpose is twofold at the very least:
It needs to meet our physiological need - it should be weather appropriate. We wouldn't want to boil in summers and freeze in winters.
It needs to meet our social need - it needs to be appropriate to the occasion. If you work in a corporate environment with a dress code, you need formal wear. If you are a model, you need fashionable clothes, you get the drift.
Have you ever bought something impulsively and realized that you have nowhere to go wearing it. It's just lying in your closet collecting dust. This happens, when we don't account for our lifestyle while shopping.
For instance, if I am an Engineer, with a full-time job, who likes to go out with friends, party occasionally, travel and attend a few family functions, then my closet should comprise mostly of formal wear, some party and ethnic wear and some casual clothes. But if 90% of my wardrobe is ethnic or trendy outfits then obviously I would be frustrated every time I have to get ready for work and most of my ethnic and trendy outfits wouldn't be used enough.
Our lifestyle should determine the pieces we buy and wear and not the other way around. Lifestyle obviously evolves and with time our wardrobe should be updated too. But always adding pieces consciously and not impulsively.
We don't need new pieces to create new outfits. So let's learn how to utilize our clothing efficiently. Sustainable and slow fashion is in for a reason. Let's do our bit.
And yes, it is beautiful being YOU!
