My Valentine's Day

I love ... love:) always have and always will. I guess it's cos of my parents. They always made my brother and I feel extremely special. Like there's nobody else better in this whole wide world.

Then I was blessed with these amazing people in my life who made every event memorable. I was showered with gifts, surprises, impromptu plans, flowers and most importantly their time, basically much more than I could have ever asked for or deserved. Be it a birthday, friendship's day or valentine's day, it was all special. For most of my teen and adult years, I have spent them with family and friends, doing the simplest but amazing things. Dad used to buy both me and mom gifts.

During my college days, we used to bunk college go out shopping, pick out gifts, flowers and then go on bike rides and/or dine out at some new restaurant. Then head back home for something special from mom.

With every passing year, the day was more special with great people and lovely memories.

This year, it was time for some self-love. I started my day by dancing to my favourite tunes and then enjoyed a nice long bath in a hot tub. Spoke to some of my favourite people and then headed out. Played in the snow for hours, stopped only when I realized I was hungry. Before I could get Hangry, decided to pick up groceries, some chocolates, ice-cream and flowers.

Once home, cooked a yummy sumptuous meal, ate stomach full and then it was movie time.

In the evening had few meetings, caught up with some work and then ended my day with a very large bowl of ice-cream.

Do I like parties, dining out, gifts, surprises, somebody else pampering me etc., of course, yes. Did I like my Valentine's Day this year, hell YES!!

Like I said in my previous blog... happiness is a choice and you know what I choose.

and yes I remember, it's beautiful being YOU and in this case, it's nice being ME!
